On September 21st, digital art lovers gathered at The Canvas 3.0 at the Oculus in New York City to celebrate and appreciate the complex heritage and diverse artistic expression of Latin American artists.
The fun night of women empowerment, Latin heritage celebration, stunning digital art, and yummy empanadas was a wonderful opportunity to experience the power and creativity of rich culture and inspiring diversity.
The exhibition is curated by Lucia Diaz to honor the beauty and complexity of Latin American heritage during the Hispanic Heritage Month, and features over a hundred digital artwork by Latinx artists.
UNGA78 Latine Art Exhibit is programmed alongside the Science Summit at the 78th United Nation General Assembly — Women in the Web3 Space: Reducing Inequalities Through Digital and Technological Opportunities was held to explore strategies for reducing inequalities for women globally in the Web3 space.
Prominent female leaders, creators, and developers in the Web3 industry spoke at the panel and addressed existing gender inequalities. The panelists dove into the rapidly evolving world of Web3 and Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) and their potential to create an inclusive, diverse environment that enables women to thrive in this digital landscape.
Digital Arts Blog is all for supporting the presence and participation of diverse perspectives in the digital arts world, and forever grateful for the talented women from all backgrounds who bring a fresh perspective to art, storytelling, and design!
The UNGA78 Latine Art Exhibit is curated by Lucia Diaz, a first-generation Colombian fashion illustrator and speaker based in DC. She also moderated the panel discussion on Women in Web3: Experiences and Insights with Sandy Martinez, M.Ed., Sofia Vera Reyes, and Maryam Taguri, and joined the panel discussion on the Evolution of Fashion and Art on the Blockchain, alongside Ana Isabel Rivas, Carley Beck, and Wildy Martinez.
Lucia Diaz’s work focuses on the “Art of Latinas Representation,” creating stationary, greeting cards, and gifts that empower and honor Latinas. She is also the creator of Art of Representation Podcast, and has worked with clients such as Tiffany & Co., Chanel, and Guess.
The event took place at The Canvas 3.0 at the Oculus at Westfield World Trade Center in the Financial District of New York City.
