Louis Vuitton x Yayoi Kusama

Yayoi Kusama’s collaboration with Louis Vuitton brought her signature polka dots over historical landmarks around the world using augmented reality – using Snapchat app visitors immersed themselves in Kusama’s colorful world.

The project not only democratized the acclaimed Japanese artist’s work by bringing her art from expensive museums to public spaces, but it also opened up Louis Vuitton to a Gen Z consumer base, with 75% of Snapchat users being younger than 30 years old. 

We wanted to make something on a huge scale that also has a huge meaning: painting the world’s biggest landmarks and monuments is also a statement, the same way that Louis Vuitton painted their boutiques and stores. It’s a way for the Louis Vuitton and Kusama teams to show the bridge between online and offline; they’re digitally painting their dots on top of the real world.

Nike collaborated with digital artist Refik Anadol to create a cutting-edge digital art experience for participants with Anadol’s data-driven, immersive art. Refik Anadol was inspired by the neuron firing, which is what happens when excitement emotions are released in the brain, to celebrate Air Max 720.

During the experience, participants tried on the shoes while their emotional responses were recorded using EEG technology, which measures brain activity to capture real-time emotional reactions. This data was displayed as a live graphical representation, allowing participants to see a visual map of their feelings as they engaged with the product.

The emotional data collected from 720 participants was then transformed into “data sculptures,”  transformed into an simulation for the artwork which moves with the power of air. The visuals were later showcased in Nike stores and in public spaces, bringing art, data, and experience together to inspire a broader audience.

Bang & Olufsen x Sasha Stiles

A brilliant collaboration that brought together technology, art, and audio excellence was between renowned digital artist Sasha Stiles in partnership with MakersPlace at the Bang & Olufsen store in Soho. 

Stiles, known for her innovative use of artificial intelligence (AI) to create her poetry work, has collaborated with her partner, Kris Bones, to create the soundscape of the pieces — her art with Bang & Olufsen's high-quality speakers elevate the store's ambiance to new heights.

The installation marked an exciting collaboration between visual arts and audio sophistication. Visitors to the Bang & Olufsen store were treated to a multi-sensory experience, where Stiles' AI-generated poems were not only visually captivating but they also resonated deeply through the store's state-of-the-art speakers.
