On Friday June 16th, the artist-led collective Subjective hosted HOMAGE at Lume Studios in NYC. The digital art exhibition is organized by Accelerate Art in partnership with Art Bees to be presented at the Constantin Brâncuși Center of the Craiova Museum in Romania. The exhibition is a tribute to the revolutionary pioneer of modern sculpture, Constantin Brâncuși.
Brâncuși was born in 1876 in Romania to a peasant family. His talent for carving wooden farm tools as a child eventually took him to the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris where he got his formal training, and made his career. Brâncuși is considered the patriarch of modern sculpture and a pioneer of modernism.
His art emphasizes clean geometrical lines that balance form and symbolism. In honor of the influential sculptor, 47 digital artists reinterpreted Brâncuși’s work for the collection.
The exhibition features works by digital artists such as Charli Cohen, Hafftka, Matteo Mauro, and many more talents selected through their open call. The collection is a collective tribute to Brâncuși which celebrates the intersection of traditional and digital art while creatively contributing to the ongoing evolution and innovation of artistic expression.
HOMAGE is curated by artist and curator Claire Silver, a renowned digital artist who collaborates with AI to produce art that is transcendental. She hopes to evoke a wordless truth in the viewer through her art. Claire Silver believes in the power of AI when creating something bigger than both the human and the machine — something profound and more important than both the collaborators. To ensure that she lives in the same world as the AI, the artist paints a physical twin to select digital artwork she creates. Claire Silver currently has an ongoing solo show named Artifacts at 0x.17 Gallery.
The digital art exhibition is organized by Accelerate Art, a charitable non-profit dedicated to uplifting emerging artists in crypto, in partnership with ArtBees Gallery, founded by the Romanian artist NONE 32x32. The Digital Art Event was held at the Constantin Brâncuși Center of the Craiova Art Museum in Romania at the beginning of this month before finding its way to New York City.
The artist-led collective Subjective hosted the exhibition at LUME Studios in NYC on June 16th. The collective curates and produces IRL art experiences and workshops with a mission to accelerate the connectivity between artists, musicians, creative technologists, and art collectors.
LUME Studios is a six-story building in the heart of Manhattan in Tribeca that’s devoted to immersive technologies and digital arts — the space is a wonderful screen gallery, production workspace, and lounge.
