Location:
36-01 35th Avenue
Queens, NY
As part of the exciting NFT.NYC week, the Museum of the Moving Image (MoMI) is teaming up with Art Blocks to present an exclusive anchor event that promises to captivate audiences with the intersection of art, technology, and creativity.
The event showcases an interactive analog video synthesis demonstration by the acclaimed duo, LoVid (Tali Hinkis and Kyle Lapidus), offering attendees a rare glimpse into their unique artistic process.
LoVid's analog video synthesis demonstration provides attendees with an immersive experience, delving into the intricate world of analog, electronic practice that complements their recent digital work. Through hands-on demonstrations and engaging presentations, LoVid offers insights into their creative approach, highlighting the symbiotic relationship between analog and digital technologies in their artistic practice.
Following the demonstration, visitors were invited to a panel discussion featuring LoVid and Art Blocks' Associate Artistic Director Sarah Rossien, moderated by Regina Harsanyi. Attendees had the opportunity to delve deeper into the creative process behind LoVid's work, as well as explore the broader implications of generative moving image art in the digital age.
In addition to the main event, attendees had the chance to explore MoMI's galleries after hours, including Auriea Harvey’s exhibition, My Veins Are the Wires, My Body Is Your Keyboard, and Allen Riley’s installation “Videofreak.” These immersive exhibits offer a glimpse into the cutting-edge world of contemporary art, while making the visitors feel undercover in the dark and empty corridors of MoMI – similar to the movie, Night at the Museum.
A fun evening to immerse oneself in the vibrant world of generative moving image art, the event has been a rare opportunity to engage with groundbreaking artists, and a highlight of NFT.NYC 2024.
