10 Digital Artists: Wonderful and surreal digital dreamlands

Artists explore and process their emotions through their art, and given the weird and surreal nature of the human subconscious, sometimes the only way to express them is through otherworldly digital dreamscapes.

Whether you are an artist looking for inspiration, a curator working on an exhibition, or a digital arts fan looking to discover digital artists, this list is for you. We gathered 10 talented digital artists who create digital dreamlands that take us to a beautiful daydream.

These artists use digital tools like 3D animation, digital painting, and artificial intelligence to transport viewers to dreamy and surreal landscapes featuring otherworldly colors, shapes, and textures. These spaces often defy the laws of nature — very much like a dream.

Jenni Pasanen

Jenni Pasanen combines digital painting with AI to create her dreamy art. She studied graphic design and worked as a designer and an animator for 13 years before becoming a full-time artist. She has created art using acrylic painting, clay sculpting, sewing, animation, coding, 3D — and she found her voice in digital painting.

In addition to Photoshop and Artbreeder, artificial intelligence is a significant tool in her craft which has, she says, taken her creativity to the next level. Pasanen believes the AI technology greatly expands and augments human imagination as the machine is beyond emotional limitations, therefore contributing to the artwork in a way that she herself couldn’t have.

We are huge fans of her dreamy artworks where human collaborates with machine to create something incredibly unique.

Rank SSS

Sabrina Guechetouli, known as Rank SSS in the digital art world, is an architect, swimmer, motion designer, and 3D artist from Algeria and is currently based in Dubai. She gets inspired by nature and architecture to create surreal and dreamlike spaces.

Her art brilliantly reflects her passion for space and bioclimate while taking the viewer to a strange, colorful, and dreamy world beyond our reality. Nature, in her words, is the purest portal to inner peace. Therefore, a lot of her artworks depict the journey to serenity and tranquility as being found within one’s self in a surreal nature — absolutely profound and beautiful.

His art carries elements from escapism and melancholia while inviting the viewer to question reality in these mystic and surreal spaces. Outrunyouth puts great emphasis on the color palette of his artworks as he hopes to strike the viewer at first sight before exploring deeper meanings.

Walking the blurry line between explorations of the subconscious and dreamy escapism, we couldn’t have created a list of digital dreamscapes without mentioning Outrunyouth’s art.

In essence I use art and surrealism as a means of therapy or catharsis, to bring my often abstract thoughts into fruition in an attempt to understand them better.

He creates his art to “discover the unexplored, to move towards the new and the future.” His art involves pieces of his subconscious and his journey while exploring new stories. We are huge fans of his Inception Collection, which conveys alternate realities and a dream within a dream.

Lorem Ipsum’s art invokes escapism, but not when one needs to face reality — "Anyone hear my voice..?” is an artwork he created for those who suffered from the massive earthquakes in Turkey in February 2023. All proceeds from the sale of this NFT is donated to official fundraising organizations in Turkey.
